A Hybrid Finish
I have seen a lot of inspiring metal flake baits lately, that made me think, what happens if I add metal flakes to a laminated bait, and then this hybrid finish was born. This is a Big Generic Ide with a metal flake back and rattles. Making a a laminated bait is not that hard, its is mostly about patience, attention to details and avoiding finish defects in many layers of epoxy. Making a metal flake finish bait is about the same thing.
So what is so hard about this one?
Combining the a laminated bait with meta flakes is something different. Metal flakes in epoxy has a tendency to move around with the epoxy while curing, keeping the metal flakes in the designated area is a challenge. Then there is the small detail of a bait having two sides. To achieve symmetry between the two sides the metal flakes must spread the same on both sides. Then there is the small detail of adding more layers of epoxy, these baits need about 8-10 layers of epoxy. When all these details fall into place the result is really great.
